Hi there! Tenchi8 here. Just thought I share some thoughts about humanoids and much more and why we like them. ^^
There's just something about going beyond the norm that many of us find very interesting especially when it comes to creating humanoid characters.
It gives us the freedom to visually express many admirable qualities and strengths that otherwise it won't be easily seen on a normal character.
Like describing a person who is beastly, or dragon like, or perhaps someone more attractive and agile like a cat. And so many other interesting ways we can express
ourselves.
I think it would really be cool to share thoughts about what we enjoy drawing and how we're inspired to draw humanoids.
For me personally, I have always had a thing for cat girls, nekos, and kitsunes. Fun loving characters that are attractive, cute, and sexy. Just one of my favorite humanoids that I happen to like. Such inspirations that got me into the interest were animes like Outlaw Star with Aisha Clan Clan, and in video games DArkStalker with Felicia. Among other sources.
But before all that, perhaps my first biggest influence was Bugs Bunny. That witty and clever wascally wabbit with a three dimensional personality that was bred by many artist. And my interest pretty much developed from there.
This blog entry is pretty much just an ice breaker, just to encourage you guys to share your thoughts and ideas. Or maybe references of inspirations that might be of interest for the rest of us and sorts. Hope this helps.

New Avatar for group
Beer a year since this group was updated, but for a while now we've had a very outdated avatar for the group. Now originally, the winner of a contest that went on like 3 to 4 years ago was to have the winner choose the new avatar, but that never happened.... So instead I've changed it up for you all, just as an update to the group.
That's all really.
Just a heads up
I've said this in a another group I own and I'll say it here too, cause its something I've been meaning to specify
* Bases are allowed since they are creative and allowed by DA, but if its a dolling dress up pic (like doll divine or ponymaker) i would not recomend putting it here.
That rule's been in the group since the beginning, and it does mean that dollmaker pictures aren't really allowed here, mainly due to them not really being art. Its literally someone else making a game and doing al this work so someone can screencap it and call it their own character.
yea no not really....
please guys, put actual effort into pictures and not use
Ima plant you all a garden
and what does that mean exactly?
Oh that's easy, it means that this group now has a new folder, the first in a while.
From now on, if you got an original character who either hones the power of plants, is photosynthetic, or is a walking tree, those characters go in the new folder: Flora, Dryad and nature spirits.
ok so i made this folder because i made a plant character recently, and it occurred to me that there is no real folder in this group either (there's also none for elves and fairies but hey those can just go in mythical characters really) So i've been meaning to make one, so i sorted out as much of the folders where i felt previous
A slight and minor rule change
now usually this group autoaccepts pics in except for 2 things: featured and if you aren't a member of the group. well the latter has been changed.
now in order to submit art you have to be a member of the group
now i changed this but i want to make sure members can still submit, the manage members thing said you can but i just want to check. so help me out here folks ^^

Hmm, where to start. I'm into most kinds of humanoids as long as they look human and not that anthro, leading to more the animal looks (Sorry, just not my thing). I usually draw all kinds of humanoid creatures from the most commonly seen to the unpopular or even new concepts. Catgirls actually got me to like real life cats and now I can't resist them, it's too adorable.
Mostly why I draw these humanoids is because I enjoy fantasy-like stuff. I like drawing made up stuff and always look for new things that haven't been made yet. For one I noticed there are no plant based humanoid folder section for this group. Do plant humanoids not count? That's a shame for me considering the Mandragora plant women I draw a lot. Other than that I make other half animal humanoids, though not much recently. I also want to add I think rabbit girls are underappreciated (or rather less popular, probably because catgirls are more popular)
I don't know what else to say about humanoids, but I guess I like the uniqueness of each kind of humanoid. To see how each humanoid is unique compared to others.
I don't usually care for most humanoids unless they are female. I'm most likely going to ignore male subjects. I just appreciate the female form more. Probably the reason I only draw girls. I don't have a favorite type of humanoid, there are too many and I just like them
